Lucas Bourgeois | CEO
Lucas Bourgeois, CEO and founder of LU Design Build, is a 2nd generation business owner, licensed professional, RE investor, and master craftsman with over two decades of personal experience managing and working on all types of designer remodeling projects, large and small. Born and raised in St Louis and coming from a large family full of small business owners, Lucas has learned the true meaning of hard work. Luke lives in Saint Louis with his two children.
Rochelle McAvin | Senior Designer
Rochelle McAvin is an interior designer living in the charming Clayton neighborhood of Saint Louis with her daughter. After attending the Academy of Art College for Interior Design in San Francisco; McAvin Design started in 2011 after working as a representative for interior designers and architects. More than four years later, Rochelle has worked on a handful of commercial projects including Washington University, and hosting a design workshop for the first LEED certified car dealership in the United States, Mungenast Lexus of Saint Louis. Currently Rochelle is focused on residential design, decorating all spaces and designing kitchens, and baths.
Jennifer Chapman | Senior Designer
A lifelong resident of Saint Louis, Jennifer developed a love for interior design at a very young age. While in interior design school, Jennifer interned for several major interior design firms in Saint Louis and began working for The Lawrence Group prior to graduation. Jennifer has been working with LU Design Build since 2016 and is very passionate about creating spaces that truly impact the way clients live. Since working for the LU team, she has had two projects recognized by Houzz- Kitchen of the Week & Bathroom of the Week and was nominated for Best Kitchen 2018 by Ladue News. Jennifer currently lives in Chesterfield, Missouri with her husband, twin boys, and dog, Sadie.
Andrea Carlstrom | Estimator
Born and raised in the St. Louis area, Andrea received a BFA from Maryville University and has worked in the commercial and residential sectors of construction for over 15 years. In addition, her upbringing within the construction industry as well as her personal experience with remodels and new home construction has given Andrea an insight into a multitude of various types of projects. Andrea currently resides in New Melle, Missouri with her husband and daughter.

Adam Schachner | Project Manager
I started in landscaping and commercial construction working on trenching crews. After college I contracted for a tub and tile company specializing in tub refinishing for several years. We also installed shower, floor and backsplash tile. After four years working at Vanderbilts department of finance I was a carpenter for a large middle Tennessee company installing kitchen, bathrooms and other remodel projects. I transitioned to project manager with the same company. We moved our family back to St Louis and I took the project manager position at LU Design Build transitioning to Construction Manager after four years.
Interests or hobbies - Family time with my 4 kids and wife taking road trips. Camping, canoeing, biking, basketball.
Chris Stricklan | Superintendent
Matt Lowe | Lead Carpenter
I grew up in a family of carpenters so I've been around new construction and remodeling my whole life. I've been involved in new construction, remodeling and historic restoration. I love taking on large and intricate projects and seeing the clients and designers visions becoming reality through our skills and hard work. Leading new team members and passing down my knowledge and watching them grow into very skilled and capable carpenters gives me the highest satisfaction. I love learning and growing as a carpenter and leader and appreciate LU for giving me those opportunities. I play music and am in several local bands. I love spending time with my family and watching my kids learn and evolve in their personalities. Overall at this point in my life I feel so fortunate to have a career at a great company where I can learn and grow as a person and who also understands the importance of family and spending time with them.

Trish Bourgeois | Office Manager
Trish Bourgeois and her husband, Louie have been in the remodeling industry for over 40 yrs. They have remodeled and renovated residential homes, duplexes, apartment buildings, business offices, and restaurants for clients and for themselves. As she has lived through numerous projects in her own home while living there, she can relate to the trials and tribulations, as well as the personal satisfaction residential remodeling can bring. Trish and Louie have raised 5 daughters and 5 sons - 4 of those sons now work in the residential remodeling industry. Trish is our office administrator. Her hobbies and interests include horticulture, traveling, quilting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Crystal Hauge | Project Support Manager
Originally from a small town in central Missouri, Crystal moved to St. Louis over 20 years ago to get her degree in mass communication from Lindenwood University. She briefly left St. Louis, but decided it was the perfect blend of a small town and big city.
A true advocate for restoration, her hobbies in refinishing furniture, and her love for remodeling increased dramatically after rehabbing her own home. She joined the LU team bringing years of experience in customer service and administration. That, combined with her genuine desire to help our clients make their visions a reality, makes Crystal a great fit on our team.
Ann Heap | Specialized Projects Director
Ann comes from an extensive background in the administration field along with project management. Ann worked almost a decade with Enterprise-Rent-A-Car and recently a couple of years with Save-A-Lot Headquarters. Ann’s studies were in business administration, attending locally which makes her another St. Louis native. Ann has a keen eye for trends and a passion for creativity to develop and express ourselves and our ideas in new ways.
